Hip-Hop Birthplace Is Saved - ABOUT TIME!!!!
There were threats to the birthplace of hip-hop but reports today say the proposal to buy the housing apartments where hip-hop was born has been rejected by the New York Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). The Founder of Hip-Hop ‘DJ Kool Herc’ (born Clive Campbell) helped tenants in their quest to save the property.

Allhiphop.com reported:
‘Tenants enlisted Hip-Hop co-founder DJ Kool Herc last year to help save the property after word got out that the 100-unit apartment building’s owner planned to leave an affordable housing program known as Mitchell-Lama.’
What’s even better is that the building is now elligible to be listed on the national register of historic sites
