Robert Downey Jr. Playing A Black Actor (PIC Inside)
Robert Downey Jr. plays a black man in a spoof comedy called ”Tropic Thunder”, which is written, directed and also stars Ben Stiller.
In the movie Downey Jr. plays a Oscar Winner ‘Kirk Lazarus’ who dyes his skin to play a black character in the most expensive Vietnam War movie ever made.

Downey responded by saying its not offensive. He told EW ’
‘If it’s done right, it could be the type of role you called Peter Sellers to do 35 years ago. If you don’t do it right, we’re going to hell. If I didn’t feel it was morally sound or that it would be easily misinterpreted that I’m just C. Thomas Howell in (”Soul Man”), I would’ve stayed home.”
The director Ben Stiller said black audiences loved the movie. “I had no idea how people would respond to it.”
“Tropic Thunder” hits cinemas this summer. It also has a whole host of stars including Tobey Maguire, Jack Black, Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.

Is It offensive?
Arent there enough quality black actors who can play a black character in a movie?
Where’s the humour? Is it that he dyes his skin to play in a Vietnam War Movie? If so, How funny is that?
