LA Times Apologise

March 27th, 2008 · No Comments

LA Times Editor Marc Duvoisinm and reporter Chuck Phillips have issued an apology over a recent article on the shooting of Tupac Shakur at Quad Studios in 1994.

Tupac

As you may or may not know, the article that was published last week alleged that Biggie, Diddy and Jimmy Rosemond were all aware and set up Tupac to get robbed and didnt know he was going to get shot.

But the Smoking Gun website lauched an investigation (read their report here) which basically said there were forged FBI documents by James Sabatino.

But it now has emerged that the writer of the LA Times article Chuck Phillps didnt ask the FBI but a retired FBI agent for the documents.

Both Diddy and Rosemond both denied involvement in setting up Tupac.

Diddy

Phillips said in a statement

“…in pursuit of the truth. I now believe the truth here is that I got duped. For this, I take full responsibility and I apologize.”

Tupac always expressed that Rosemond and Haitian Jack set him up.

All the evidence suggests that this wasnt just any robbery, it was orchestred, but by whom?

One of the other writers on Highbrid Nation did a story on Pac and the craziness surrounding that shooting and I wondered what other were saying about this. It seems to me that this is something the news media refuses to let go. Everyone wants to be the one who solves the crime. In reality what are the chances of us solving a 15 year old crime? And in the end does it matter? That shooting did not lead to Pac’s death. He recovered from that shooting. So what’s the fuss about?
