Nas - Biggie Asked Me To Join Him Against Tupac

April 21st, 2008 · No Comments

Nasir Jones aka God Son caught up with King and they chopped it up on Tupac/Biggie, Tiger Woods as well as his new album.

Nas

Fresh off his new single being released (listen here to ‘Be A Ni*ga Too’), Nas was quick to downplay any rumours of Def Jam dropping him over the controversy over his new album entitled Ni*ga’

“Somebody told me that (one) about me getting dropped,” he says. “That sounds funny, though. I guess that just stays a rumor. But I enjoy those rumors too, because that means there’s fear.

Tiger Woods

The interview then went onto interracial relationship which Nas says he has no problem with but he did have an issue to take Tiger Woods on

“Tiger Woods standing up for this white lady who said something about him being lynched is a coon move to me … God bless the brother. I like to see him doing his thing, but that’s a flaw in his character. That’s an issue I would have with  Tiger Woods; not who he is married to.”

Biggie and Tupac

The interview then took an interesting turn when Nas spoke on the Biggie and Tupac beef.

If you arent aware, though the became friends, Nas and Biggie did go at each other on wax. Nas revealed ‘The Message’ off ‘It Was Written’ was actually aimed at Biggie. Its a song that Tupac took much offense to.

“On a song I did on my second album, Tupac thought it was about him,  but it was really towards Biggie … From the first lines all the way to, ‘One life, one love, there can only be one king.’ That was specifically going in that direction. The whole fucking song, really. Tupac was not even on my radar for going at him.”

Fans of Nas and Hip Hop have always wondered who that line was going at. Some thought Tupac, others thought Biggie, while some thought it was Jay-Z.

Tupac

Biggie responded with ‘KIck In The Door’ with the line “Your reign on the top was short like leprechauns”. Nas talks about this on ‘Last Real Ni*ga Alive’. ‘Y’all dont know about my Biggie Wars, who do you think Kick in The Door was for’

Biggie Smalls

But the New York rappers put their beefs aside and Nas revealed that Biggie asked him to team up against Tupac during the rift between ‘Pac and Biggie.

“He said, ‘Let’s get together.’ He said that everyone was a little nervous about it, but he was calling me about getting busy,”
