Chicago MC Common is preparing his eighth studio album entitled ‘Invincible Summer’.

But fans should expect a different sound as Common himself described the album as “electro-tinged” and “techno-inspired.”. He maybe returning to the sound of ‘Electric Circus’, which recieved mixed reactions.

“I created this music for the summer time, it’s about feeling good … This is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work.”

For his last couple of albums, Common worked with Kanye West and the late J Dilla but for this summer album, Common has decided to work with Mr. DJ (Outkast contributor) and The Neptunes.

“Kanye was focusing on his Glow in the Dark show, so he hasn’t been able to make it to the studio to weigh in … But it worked out well, organically. The Neptunes and Mr. DJ came up with a fresh sound for me.”
