NYC’s longest running open mic, will celebrate their eight year anniversary this weekend with a concert, after party, and the first ever EOW Awards.
End Of The Week started in 2000 and it fast became New York City’s premiere location for a great Hip Hop show.
Artists like Immortal Technique, Posion Pen, DMC, Mazzi & Scram Jones have all blessed the EOW stage. Its appeal has been so great that MC’s from the UK, France, Germany, Spain & Brazil have joined the movement.
ProPayne, one of EOW founders told HipHopDX
“When we started the movement, it was a small open mic in the back of a restaurant … “Now we’re an internationally recognized brand with franchises in three continents. We’ve been forced to adapt and change with the times. We went from a crew of friends making music to business men with marketing plans and proposals. We’ve grown and had to adopt a more ‘professional’ approach to what we do.”
“I feel that EOW is successful and able to do a weekly show that never gets dry or old because we love the music and the culture and have a great respect for where it’s rooted … We consider ourselves grown men in the Hip Hop game, so we have a seasoned outlook on things. One of our matra’s is maintaining the integrity of the culture. That in itself shines through and draws people to The Dub.”
