A few days ago I had the pleasure of speaking to worldwide star and UK artist Estelle as she touched down in London for this year’s MOBO Awards.
Estelle who is signed to John Legend’s label has had a fantastic year.
The singer/songwriter/producer/rapper has had a worldwide smash in ‘American Boy’ ft Kanye West. It topped the UK, iTunes and European Charts. Even Jay-Z did his own freestyle and performed across Europe.
This was followed by the release of her critically acclaimed album ‘Shine’ with features from John Legend, Will.i.Am and Kardinal Offishall. Its a fabolous album and if you havent brought it already, make sure you do.
Since then Estelle’s career has gone from strength to strength and she is finally recieving the credit and ‘shine’ she deserves.
She recently performed at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors alongside the likes of De La Soul & Public Enemy, she is also on tour with The Roots & Gym Class Heroes. But she’s taken time out of busy schedule to appear at the MOBO’s, which you really have to respect her for.

When you listen to this interview, you will instantly see she is down to earth. Extremely down to earth. She says what she feels and keeps it real.
She’s also pretty funny, with a good sense of humour.
This may have started like an interview but ended up to be a conversation.

Estelle’s Message For The Hip Hop Chronicle (VIDEO)
Live on the red carpet at this year’s MOBO’s, Estelle remembered my site and interview with her and she had a quick message for The Hip Hop Chronicle.
I then began to tell her to tell John Legend that he cant hide from The Hip Hop Chronicle. John didnt speak to the press on our end lol. So I decided to tell Estelle and gave her my card to give to John.
Btw John Legend rocked the stage. He’s a fantastic performer. The duet between him and Estelle was awesome.
