The Hip Hop Chronicle had the pleasure of speaking to New York MC and CEO of Blacksmith Music, Talib Kweli.

Talib who rose to fame with Mos Def making up the legendary Black Star. Tracks like ‘Definition’ & ‘Respiration’ helped Talib gain repsect as being one of Hip Hop’s true MC’s. He’s worked with the likes of Kanye West, Mos Def, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, KRS-One & Common.  

Kweli who was on the Hip Hop Live tour when this interview took place is set to drop his first live DVD in ‘Live From The Shrine’, which features his group Strong Arm Steady & the legendary KRS-One.

The Hip Hop Chronicle spoke to Talib Kweli about his Hip Hop influences, he speaks on making the transisition between rapper and Record Exec.

The Brooklyn native speaks on Barack Obama and his chances on becoming President after the third Presidential debate.

Talib also tells me why he decided to do this live DVD and he also reveals the time when he felt challenged from KRS-One.
