Kanye - Rihanna Was The Best Thing To Happen To Beyonce

During an album listening session, Kanye played his new album ‘808’s & Heartbreak’ for selected media and guests.

After hearing listening to the album, Kanye took a Q&A session.

When asked about his single ‘Love Lockdown’, Kanye explains why he chose to make the single.

Kanye 

‘This is a wakeup call … people in music get comfortable … Rappers get comfortable’.

Kanye said this was the case with Beyonce.

‘Rihanna was the best thing to happen to Beyonce’, referring to Rihanna’s rise to stardom suggesting Beyonce had to set the musical bar higher.

Kanye believed that Beyonce did this with her new video ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’. He expressed his respect and love for it, while saying it was a concept that he never would have come up with.

Rihanna got Beyonce confused and running around half nekked instead of creating classic music that would ultimately garner her that coveted Icon title she is so desperate to be crowned. look at Beyonce lately. her hair, eyes, everything is dead, empty, lost, confused. she is searching for an edge and can’t seem to keep her grip. she is 2 singles out, leaked her own album on Myspace. now that is a real low for a so called “it girl”. As for the video, Rihanna evolved in style, presence, music, lyrics, and confidence. Beyonce still nekked, popping her twat to hand clap music. put a lid on it!!!!

    Umm..Rihanna outsold beyonce with her last album. And beyonce stole that video from some old ladies in the 60’s doing the EXACT same moves/idea, Just go on youtube abd type in “beyonce copy to much” it’ll come right up

    Kanye is right ( and i’ll b getting his album during this credit crunch lol) they are both great artists in their own right but some do get comfortable *cough Bey* and sometimes u have to change things up a bit and take risks with ur music or vids or image. People will hate on u but ppl will also love it too, cos u cant please everyone.

You can’t steal anything from back in the day because it will always be called inspiration anyways she made it into her own. And as for “Chocolate” Beyonce isn’t searching for w/e you claim. The look you’re talking about is her Sasha Fierce look which is who she is and always has been on stage.     But what Kanye meant was that Now that Rhianna is so called “getting up there” it helps Beyonce to come back even harder. So he’s saying basically Rhianna won’t reach Beyonce’s level because Bee always come back harder then ever and he’s happy that Rhianna’s getting up there because he wants Bee to come harder so Rhianna won’t get up to her level.     kanye is right…..Rihanna has definetly proven herself with this last album…..she changed her style completely and it worked…..beyonce is trying to to the same with the “i am…” side of the album….and i think she needed to….becuz her music, although good, was gettin repetitive…to the point where everything she put out was expected….. i congratulate beyonce on trying to change…. but unlike rihanna…. her she went a step backward with this album…. b day was the shit….and this one is jus bland….the first halof jus puts u to sleep, the second half iss good but besides “sweet dream” its nuthin great….. with rihannas next album she is def gonna be more popular….so beyoonce need to step it up even greater if she wants to stay on top….cuz right now rihanna is slowly creepin up

    I think both of them are great in what they do. But I must admit that Beyoncé is a Trendsetter and of course you will always have somebody that will come up with something that she could of done. I believe Rihanna needs to work much harder to keep up in that industry because is not easy to create ”your legacy”. Rihanne is lucky because she has a team that writes/produced and tell her what to do but Beyoncé is her own designer. Like she says : Some girls were made but I was create for a greater purpose. It’s good for some artist to go down a little and come back stronger, defined and powerful. She is a true artist that made histore and changed a lot in the music.

    Kanye West talks about Beyoncé in a recent press conference, in New Zealand. He said: “Nobody really wants to recognize that Beyoncé is a f*cking living legend and that she is just as great, if not greater, than the artists that we had in the past…that she’s probably greater than Tina Turner.”

    (This is way more of a compliment then what he said about RiYAWNa. eventhough he was actually given bee props when he said w/e it was about rhiforehead.)

    I think rihanna did a 360degree turn. She has set more trends then beyonce. I love beyonce, but you gotta give rihanna props. Her entire album was different from her first. Her style is great. i dont think beyonce has a style its just normal. Rihanna is beautiful, tasteful, great voice, and can dance her ass off. She is different. Beyonce can sang, She has really set a trend. I think beyonce really needs to take more risk. Being taught someting doesnt make you great, but being able to jus do youis whats is great, and rihanna has done that. Dont hate, respect the taste.

    i love beyonce shes my favourite artist, i like rihanna but rihanna is good but she is definetly no legend. she ahs all her work done for her she doesnt write songs like beyonce, she hasnt sold no where near as much, tbh she really cant sing she sound like a dying cat. all i love bout riri is her image thats it. beyonce will go down in music history and rihanna with such a good album ggb and a new one getin rushed i doubt she’ll live up and will probably flop.

    Rihanna is a barbie doll! She is pretty, fashionable and people make catchy tunes for her. She is a manufactured success. Beyonce is a singer. She obviously has vocal training and just happens to be pretty as well! Beyonce has nothing to worry about. She knows deep down who the real artist is. I am sure Rihanna knows it too. I am sure Rihanna would never open her mouth to let out one note in front of Beyonce because she knows her place.
