I attended the EOW (End Of The Weak) World Finals in Brixton this past Friday (thanks to Tony). It was the first time ever the End Of Weak finals were held in the UK.

It was a real Hip Hop night. Respect to everyone who came through to support. I big thanks goes to Snuff who’s been doing big things for EOW.

This year, UK’s Jack Flash, Germany’s Chefket, France’s Warlock and USA’s Dirty Mac, all battled to be crowned world champion.

For those who have never been, the contest tests an emcee’s lyrical ability.

There are 5 rounds and here’s the breakdown.

From the EOW website

Round 1

60 seconds over music of competitors choice

2nd Round - Acapella Verse

60 seconds over no music

3rd Round - Freestyle Bag

Competitor uses 5 random objects in freestyle verse

4th Round - Beat Juggling

Competitor must rock with the DJ over 3 random beats

5th Round - Cypha Skills

2 competitors go back and forth for 4 bars each, 3 times.

Each round judges award from 1-10 points

in each of the following skills:

Lyrics

Creativity

Stage Presence

Delivery/Flow

Crowd Response

5 skills x 3 judges x 5 rounds x 10 points

= 750 perfect score

UK MC, Jack Flash came out victorious which means that the UK retain the title (Stig Of The Dump won last year).

Here’s some footage from the night
