I’m writing tonight to put you up on a video interview I conducted with Pharoahe Monch @ the press event for Brooklyn Bodega’s Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. Pharoahe & I discuss the importance of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival to him & the culture, his original demo tape, how he feels he’s progressed as an MC over the years, his new album, as well as features he’s done, a new Organized Konfusion track, how he feels about releasing new music under the current climate in hip-hop and much much more. It’s an in-depth interview with one of the best lyricists to ever touch a mic!!!

The bonus video is an unofficial promo I did of various artists (Marco Polo & Torae, Donny Goines & more) that are performing at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival discussing how they also feel personally about being on that stage and included in such an important event in NYC. Wes Jackson, who handles a great deal of the work at Brooklyn Bodega, gives a nice speech about the Festival & also urges all of us to try to direct people here for donations so that events like this can stay alive every year. I think that’s an important message, because Brooklyn Bodega puts all their profit back into the festival for the following year. It’s as important as any event in the hip-hop culture, so anything you can do to help support – especially posting these videos, is greatly appreciated. You can also come down to Fat Beats (406 6th Ave) in Manhattan to purchase tickets.
