Blag Magazine put on a special event earlier this evening, a Q&A with Public Enemy. Chuck D, Flavor Flav were in attendence as they conducted a intimate session.
A range of topics were covered, the group’s tour to South Africa, stories of performing in London 23 years ago, Flavor Flav’s upcoming projects as well as the music industry.
I managed to get in a question which I asked Chuck and Flav to recount the first time they ever met each other. Chuck reveals a jheri curled Flav trying to smoke in a studio and telling him to take “that shit” outside. But their friendship blossomed to a point where Flav learnt alot from Chuck’s father.
Another interesting bit of information from my question was that Yo! Bum Rush the Show was written in the back of a U-Haul truck. Sounds crazy right? Chuck told us that the first album was written in the back of a delivery truck.
After the question and answer, the duo performed a little set for us. They even took it back to It Takes A Nation Of Millions…
I truly apologise for no footage of that but the camera I was using ran out! I truly apologise.
Anyhow, below is some footage from the Q&A. My usual camera decided to bail on me so I had to use a friend’s camera, so apologises for the quality.
