In the second part of my exclusive interview with DJ Ralph McDaniels, the pioneer explains why Wu Tang “C.R.E.A.M.” is the best video he has worked on.

The DJ also reveals what video’s he has in his stash including a freestyle cypher between Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes in 1990.

Also find out why Ralph McDaniels didn’t hang out with a young Russell Simmons, how he connected with Rakim and why Big Daddy Kane wants to be an R&B singer. And he recounts the first time he met a young Jay-Z.

My Interview With DJ Ralph McDaniels (Part 2)

After the jump is part 1

These are the type of interviews I really enjoy. I am a sucker for Hip Hop stories (old or new).

It’s really an honour to have interviewed Ralph McDaniels, the architect of video-making in Rap music. If it wasn’t for him and the impact he had in the genre, it’s safe to assume that I wouldn’t be doing video interviews.

He inspired a generation of artists and filmakers. His one time assistant was Hype Williams and Hype has done million dollar videos. This is all in addition to being a fantastic DJ.

Respect to DJ Ralph McDaniels!

Clap For Him
