Rihanna has cancelled her first public performance following the attack from boyfriend Chris Brown earlier this year.
The superstar singer was scheduled to perform on the 28th of this month in Dubai but has pulled out because shes isn’t ready to perform yet.
Concert organiser Yassin Matbouly said
“We want to share with you that Rihanna and her management will not be accepting to hold a public concert at this time as it is not appropriate timing for her”
Rihanna did however make her first major public appearance in New York last night, walking the red carpet at the Costume Insistute Of The Metropolitan Museum Gala.
Chris Brown is said to be ‘close’ to securing a plea bargain deal.
The R&B singer who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats to superstar girlfriend Rihanna, is scheduled to appear in court today.
The singer is expected to plead not guilty of all charges but now TMZ are reporting that lawyers for Chris Brown are in “serious” plea bargin talks and are “close” to securing a deal.
Brown is accused of hitting, biting and choking Rihanna until she was unconscious in February.
Diddy has defended his decision to let Chris Brown and Rihanna use his Miami home in order to repair their relationship.
On the Ellen DeGeneres show, Ellen asked Diddy; “Why would you do that? Why would you give Chris - a guy who hit a girl… I don’t understand.”
Diddy replied
“I know both of them, it’s my house and I’m allowed to give my house to whoever I want to give my house to. I’m the type of person that I don’t cast a stone or cast a judgment on anybody, so if a friend or friends ask me for a favour, then I’m gonna be there for a favour, as long as I know that the energy of the favour is positive.”
“I’m not gonna get involved in it, I’m not gonna pass judgment on it. If I can be there as a friend during hard times, then I’m gonna be there as a friend. I don’t know the exact particulars. It’s a dark time for them and I was there more as a supporter, that was it.”
Ellen seemed bemused that Diddy would want to help someone who hit a woman to which Diddy replied,
“I think that we all have to be honest with ourselves as adults, and people who have been in relationships, we know sometimes those relationships get ugly and sometimes this doesn’t come out into the forefront the way this one has come out. There’s a lot of stones being thrown and we don’t know exactly what’s going on. These are two young individuals. We need to pray for them. You don’t need to start just saying that you know something that you don’t know; you wasn’t in that car, I wasn’t in that car and it isn’t right for him to put his hands on her or her to put her hands on him. We don’t know what the problem is.”
Snoop Dogg has offered Chris Brown & Rihanna to come on to his show to speak with self-help expert, Dr Phil.
On Thursday, Chris Brown was charged with two felony counts for allegedly beating up Rihanna will be back in court next month.
Snoop is refusing to take sides but wants them to get help and if it isnt Dr. Phil, Snoop will get Dr. Dre to help the young couple.
Speaking to HollyScoop.com the rapper said,
“I would definitely have them on the show. I would have to have Dr. Phil on the show because that’s not my section or department, but I’m sure Dr. Phil would have some advice. If he wasn’t available I would get Dr. Dre to come on the show for them.”
Rihanna’s lawyer has confirmed that Rihanna could testify in the case against Chris Brown if she is subpoenaed to.
On Thursday, Chris Brown was charged with two felony counts in connection with his alleged assault on his superstar girlfriend.
Brown who could face four years in jail will be asked back to court in April. Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra confirmed however that his client will do anything that the law requires her to do.
“At this point, she is willing to do anything that the law requires her to do”
Etra adding “If subpoenaed, she will testify.”
This all comes after rumours reporting the couple were reunited at Diddy’s Miami Mansion and when Etra was asked if this was true, he said this is “neither the time nor the place to discuss their relationship”The judge in the case has ordered Brown not to “annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone”.
Brown’s arraignment will take place on April 6th
