Its the song that closed out the MTV VMA’s this year and the song that reached number 3 in the UK pop charts a month before its release, but a rep for Alicia Keys has confirmed that there will be an Empire State Of Mind Part 2.
According to MTV, the sequel will be featured on Alicia Key’s upcoming album “The Element Of Freedom” and will feature a new verse from Hova.
The pair recently performed the track at the World Series.
In related Jay-Z news, Young Jeezy will tour with Jay next year for the Blueprint 3 tour. There had been speculation about whether or not Jeezy would be on the tour but it has now been confirmed.

Jay-Z is certainly planning a life after rapping after revealing he may start DJing.
Hova wants to start spinning records at Weddings and Bar Mitzvah’s with a video screen and dancers.
“I’ve got a whole plan. I’m gonna get me a little Serato set, some DJ software. I’m gonna work on that for six months, then I’m gonna find out which DJ makes the most and charge double and tour, do bar mitzvahs, weddings … I’m gonna have video behind me and dancers. I’m gonna have people just go out and pour champagne when I get to a certain song. I’m going to make a whole show of this thing”
Its not uncommon for rappers to perform a DJ set to make some extra money. Artists like Talib Kweli, Q-Tip, Questlove and Biz Markie all perform DJ gigs.
But if you want Jay-Z at you’re wedding, act fast because his performance fee will go up.
“If you want to book me, book me early, because the prices will be a little better because when I get good, I’m really going to go for it.”

Jay-Z has sold out yet another London concert in record time.
Hova is set to perform at Alexandra Palace in London on Wednesday 4th November but tickets for the event sold out in 15 seconds.
This marks his second record sell out show in London in a matter of weeks. Jay had sold out The Roundhouse in Camden last month. Since then, his next single “Empire State Of Mind” soared to number 3 in the pop charts even though its not due for release until November 2nd.
History will be made on September 13th as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are set to perform together for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The pair recently collaborated on Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 album and according to Krucial Keys, Hova and Keys will “Empire State Of Mind” at the MTV award show.
Combining Jay’s stage presence with Alicia singing and playing piano, you REALLY dont want to miss this performance!
(Could Empire State Of Mind be the next single? I wouldnt be mad at that, its my favourite track off the album. I’d suggest that Jay-Z release Forever Young with Mr. Hudson as a single for the UK iTunes chart too)
