Method Man has dismissed any rumours that the Wu Tang Clan have broken up, insisting people are taking it out of context, including fellow rapper Ludacris.

The last album the Wu put out was 8 Diagrams back in 2007 and rumours have since spread that the Clan had broken up.

Even Ludacris on ’Lets Stay Together’ from his latest album ‘Theatre Of The Mind’ said “First Wu-Tang broke up/Now ODB’s gone”.

But speaking to the New York Daily News, Meth insists the Wu havent disbanded but are taking a break.

“We never really split up. People need to stop taking s**t out of context … Even Ludacris, who I respect a lot, kind of upset me with a song he had where he mentioned Wu-Tang broke up. No, we didn’t break up! There has never been an official statement that said, ‘We’re done’ or ‘I’m out’ … there’s things we’ve got to take care of first before anybody even starts to discuss that.”

9th Wonder and Pras will share their secrets of success at a New York City High School next week.

The duo will talk and arrange workshops with pupils of The New Design High School on Monday as part of a community arts programme.

The Urban Arts Partnership’s Interactive Master Classes aim to give students an insight into the music industry and teach them the skills needed to make a success of their careers.

Producer 9th Wonder already holds a masterclass in Hip Hop at the North Carolina Central University.

Rapper Snoop Dogg appeared in court yesterday to contest a civil lawsuit from a man who alleges that he was beaten up by the rapper and his entourage.

Richard Monroe, Jr. is seeking £15 million in damages from the rapper Snoop Dogg after an incident during a concert at the White River Amphitheatre in Washington, back in 2005.

Monroe Jr. says Snoop hit him with a microphone after he jumped on stage and put his hand on the shoulder. He then goes on to say Snoop’s entourage took him backstage and assaulted him.

“I was getting punched, kicked, kicked, punched. It was brutal. I was really in shock. I couldn’t believe it.” 

However Snoop’s lawyers have hit out at Monroe’s claims, insisting their client acted in self-defence and thought he was being attacked when Monroe jumped on stage.

The rapper is expected to testify during the trial.

Jay-Z has defended Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps over pictures that seemed to show Phelps smoking drugs.

Earlier this year, Phelps was pictured in British newspapers holding a marijuana glass pipe at a friends party. But while the swimming star apologised calling his behaviour ”regrettable”, he lost endorsement deals.

But Hip Hop star Jay-Z, feels the public shouldn’t judge the young athlete and insists he will learn from mistakes as he gets older.

Speaking to Cigar Aficionado magazine, Hova said,

“You look at all these people who graduated from Princeton and Harvard, who are supposed to be pillars of the community - every day in the newspaper arrested for some kind of financial fraud. Then you look at someone like Michael Phelps. He’s 23. What’s he gonna do? He’s a kid. He’s going to experiment”

T.I. was forced to cancel a talk with Brooklyn school students after New York City officials said the event was too “commercial”.

Margie Feinberg, spokeswoman for the Department of Education called the event off leaving school children from Brooklyn’s Crown Heights Middle School of the Arts disappointed.

Principal Susan Hobson-Ransom said

“We’re very excited about his visit if it’s going to help the children do positive things with their lives.”

The rapper who has been talking to school children across the United States is set to begin a year-long jail sentence for illegal gun possession later this month.

Fabolous is at the centre of a drug bust after police in Arkansas discoverd marjuana on a tour bus allegedly belonging to the rapper.

Last Tuesday, police stopped the coach and uncovered 496 pounds (225 kilograms) of the illegal substance on board, as well as £4,543 in cash.
 
Two men have been arrested (Edward Thimas and Robert Morris) who claim the drugs belong to the rapper.

They are currently being held in custody after giving authorities conflicting statements.

We all know he’s addicted to the mic, but it seems that Jay-Z is also addicted to art paintings.

Beyonce got the rapper hooked on collecting paintings and while Hova insists that it’s just a hobby, he hasnt ruled out opening his own exhibit.

“Bey (Beyonce) is really into art and now I am too. I’m building a collection but at the moment I am just buying things I like and seeing where it takes me. I have a lot of pieces from Damien Hirst and Richard Price - they are incredible artists. Damien Hirst’s Beat Life, Cheat Death piece was inspired by one of my songs, so that was cool. When I finally hang up the microphone I could even exhibit my own collection.”

Derek Luke who plays Diddy in the new ‘Notorious’ movie has revealed that he rejected the role initally.

Luke turned down the role to play the Hip Hop star because he felt he didnt have enough time to get into the role. It was only until Diddy called Luke that he was convinced to take the role.

“I was the last person cast. I had a week, Jamal (Woolard, who played Biggie Smalls) had like six months. I wish I had six months. As a matter of fact, I kind of turned the project down a few times because I felt like I didn’t have enough time… I wanted to do it right. It wasn’t until I got the call from Mr. Combs that I decided this was the thing to do. I didn’t want to mess it up. I’ll do anybody else’s story, but I did not want to do this story because it’s like Biggie’s not dead, so I didn’t want to touch it.”

Luke also spoke on Lil Kim and has urged her to watch the movie.

“Kim if you’re watching: I’ve never gotten a chance to meet you but I just want to big up this actress by the name of Naturi. I didn’t know anything about you, but I believe in this film, that a lot of it was real. She made you so human, she explained any type of pain you were going through. So sweetheart, check it out. I don’t know what the deal is, but I just want to salute you and say you are a hip-hop giant.”
