Its been revealed that UK singer Leona Lewis is set to work with producer Timberland for her next album.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ star shot to fame after winning UK talent show ‘X-Factor’. Her first album ‘Spirit’ was recieved well both in the United States and the United Kingdom and now the singer has promised to go into a new direction with the singer saying,

“It’s early stages but we’re all very excited.”

A source added,

“Timbaland can’t wait to work with Leona and make her feisty like Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna. “The ballads will still be there but the tracks will be racier and there’ll be dance floor anthems too.”

There are also rumours that Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are eagar to work with the singer and there is even talk of Leona performing on stage with Michael Jackson during his comeback tour in London.

According to the source, Michael “…hasn’t approached her yet but he’s a big fan of everything she has achieved. She’s massive all around the world and he feels this duet would give both their careers an even bigger boost.”

Rihanna has topped the U.K. singles chart rundown for 2008, selling 1.3 million copies.

The R&B star had a great year in the UK. Hit songs like ‘Take A Bow’, ‘Umbrella ft Jay-Z’, ‘Disturbia’ and ‘Rehab’ sold 1,294,093 units last year.

The Def Jam artist beat Welsh singer Duffy, who sold just over a million copies and with Leona Lewis who sold 992,644.

X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke was fourth selling 867,933 and girl group Girls Aloud completing the top 5, selling 876,050 copies.

Reports suggest that Justin Timberlake and UK singer Leona Lewis are teaming up for a duet.

The former X Factor winner is hooking up with Timberlake to record a cover version of Dolly Parton’s ballad ‘I Will Always Love You’. A track that was later made even more famous by Whitney Houston’s in the hit movie, ‘The Bodyguard’.

A source says

“They will record the track in the next few months and are just waiting for a period when they’re both free to go into the studio. Leona and Justin are huge fans of each other’s music and are raring to go.”

For the upcoming 51st annual Grammy Awards, rap star Lil Wayne has notched up eight nominations.

The rapper holds the most nominations including ”Album of the Year” for his multi-platinum selling album Tha Carter III.

Ne-Yo is set to battle it out with Wayne over the year’s best album with ‘Year of the Gentleman.

Kanye West is up for 6 awards this time around including his feature on Estelle’s hit record ‘American Boy’.

Speaking on UK artists, Leona Lewis is up for a Grammy in the ‘Record of The Year catergory. Also in same catergory is the lovely M.I.A., who is nominated for her smash hit ‘Paper Planes’. 

Its been a great year for Lupe Fiasco. He’s up for four awards including “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration,” “Best Rap Album” and “Best Rap Solo Performance” for tracks taken from The Cool.

And finally Jay-Z is up for 6 awards this year after the successful release of American Gangster last year.

The 51st Grammy Awards show is scheduled to air on the 8th of February 2009 in California.
