White Stripes member Jack White has revealed that he has recorded a song with Jay-Z.
Speaking to GQ, White said,
“We did a song together a few weeks ago - it was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable sounding.”
There’s been no word on whether the track will get an official release.
Jay-Z will be coming back to these shores this summer for a 3 show tour.
The rapper will play Manchester’s MEN Arena on Monday 7th June and the LG Arena in Birmingham on Wednesday 9th June, topping it off with a headline performance at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard in London’s Hyde Park on Sunday 4th July.
Hova is currently in London for the Brit Awards where he performing as well as being nominated for two awards.
So if you don’t have tickets to the Brits, you can see Jay again this summer.

I was twittering about this earlier today when news broke that Little Brother will be releasing a new album entitled “LeftBack” on April 20th. It will be there last.
Big Pooh and Phonte have enlisted multiple producers for LeftBack, both from within and outside of the Justus League camp. Producers for this album include frequent collaborator Khrysis and GetBack producers Denaun Porter and Zo!, as well as efforts from Symbolyc One and first time Little Brother contributors, J. Bizness, and King Karnov.
In addition to production, Khyrsis will also be contributing guest vocals on the album. Joining the North Carolina producer/MC are Torae, Truck North, Jozeemo and fellow Justus League MC’s Chaundon and Median. Resident crooner Darien Brockington and songstress Yahzarah also supply vocals on the album.
On the album Phone said,
“I didn’t want our last record to be a bunch of second-rate material. I wanted to walk away from Little Brother knowing that I gave our fans all that I had to give, and said everything I wanted to say. With LeftBack, I’ve done that.”
T.I. has been released from prison!
Last week I reported that T.I. could be released early and moved to a halfway house and lawyers confirm that will be the case.
XXLMag.com has learned that T.I. was released from prison this morning (December 22) and will be admitted into a halfway house in his hometown of Atlanta, later today.
XXL spoke with Tip’s lead defense attorney in his federal gun case, Steve Sadow, who confirmed the news. “He was released this morning from his place of incarceration in Arkansas,” Sadow said. “As I understand it, he’s on his way back to the Atlanta area. He has to report to a halfway house in Atlanta sometime this evening. And he will then spend somewhere between the next two or three months in a halfway house, ending his Buruea of Prison sentence.“
According to Sadow, T.I. will have a lot more freedom under his new living conditions. “A halfway house is more along the lines of a residential dormitory,” he explained of the rap star’s new stipulations. “You live within this house that is broken into areas for living, and you are permitted to leave during the day for certain reasons of which would be employment, medical reasons, things of that nature, and you return to the halfway house in the evening. So it’s a restriction on your liberty but it’s a way for you to reenter into society and not be confined within a jail type institution 24-hours a day.”
LL Cool J has missed out on being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, its been revealed.
The rapper/actor was up for the award after being eligibile for the first time this year.
Out of 12 acts announced, only ABBA, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges were chosen to be inducted and they will accept their award in March 2010 at a ceremony in New York.
In its entire history, only Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Seems like the ladies like Cool James but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dont, so LL, “Mama said knock” them out!
Alicia Key’s new album will feature a duet with Beyonce according to label Sony.
‘Put In A Love Song’ is one of 14 tracks on that appears on Keys’s upcoming albumThe Element Of Freedom.
Keys also teams up with rapper Drake for the track “Love Is My Disease”.
However it seems Jay-Z will not appear on the record despite rumours he may lend a verse to “Empire State of Mind II”.
The album features production from long-time collaborator Kerry “Krucial” Brother, Noah ‘40′ Shebib and Swizz Beatz.
“The Element Of Freedom” is available to buy on December 14th.

50 Cent believes that his brand new fragrance wont only make men smell great but also give them more self confidence.
The rapper who recently launched his new scent “Power by 50 Cent” , says customers will get an ego boost from the aftershave.
“It helps to boost your self-confidence. It’s important to look good and even more important to smell good. What good are the best clothes if you smell bad?”
50 added that wont need the self-confidence even though he’ll use the fragrance himself.
“I already have the necessary self-confidence – otherwise I would have never been a successful hip-hop artist. My record label wanted me to be different at times, more politically correct. But to give into that would have only proven a bad character. If you’re not sure about yourself you’re not suited for the hip-hop business.”
British duo The Ting Tings have apparently signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label.
The Manchester-born band have been preparing to release their second album next year and sources claim they have signed and are working with none other than Jay-Z.
One source said,
“Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material, the staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction”. Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands across the pond”
There hasnt been any official confirmation from the band.
