Mariah Carey is bringing Christmas cheer to West London next week.
The Superstar songstress will be switching on the Christmas lights at the Westfield Shopping Centre in West London as well as signing copies of her new album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ (out on November 23).
Westfield is going to be transformed for the occasion – the main boulevard will be lined with a VIP pink carpet whilst Mariah makes an entrance under a snowfall of confetti.
Jill McArdle, Head of Marketing at Westfield said,
“We’re very excited to have Mariah at Westfield London. Her music is timeless and has great appeal to customers of all ages so she’s the perfect star for us. She’s also a big fan of the Christmas season. Our Wonderland offers shoppers a free kids 3D Santa’s Wish Kingdom grotto, a gorgeous Grown Up Grotto, Handsfree shopping, free home delivery for presents and free parking. Westfield London is the ultimate Christmas shopping experience,”
Mariah will also be launching her new perfume “Forever”.
Jared Leto has revealed that Kanye West has a great singing voice.
Leto’s band 30 Seconds To Mars recently collaborated with the rapper for a song entitled ‘Hurricane’.
Kanye famously used the Auto-tune aid on his last album (808’s & Heartbreak) but speaking to MTV, Leto said that the song will feature Kanye’s natural voice.
“He came by here, he was here in the studio, and we did some initial kind of listening, and he did some singing, and we knew we needed to kind of follow up and finish things, so I went over to Hawaii [with] an engineer and a small crew, and we had a great time. This is Kanye singing. I happen to think he has a really great voice. I like his voice a lot. My favourite is when he sings, as opposed to rapping, and I told him that as well, that I really liked him as a singer. But the Auto-Tune thing doesn’t really bug me.”
Recently I spoke to rising R&B star Timothy Campbell.
Born in Milwaukee but now residing in Atlanta, Timothy has worked with some the industry’s finest R&B acts, producers and writers including Tank, Shawanna of DTP, the late Left Eye, Teddy Bishop, Brian M. Cox, Eddie “Gypsy” Stokes, Chucky Charles, Pretty Ricky, and Jazzy Pha.
Campbell has recently released his latest album “Silent Tears”, which features the warming first single ‘Beautiful’ and the infectious ‘Dim The Lights’. The album has been very well recieved in Europe and the UK.
The R&B artist has also launched a domestic violence campaign where he plans to visit domestic violence shelters and even donate album sales money to the cause.
In his very first UK interview, Timothy speaks to me about his journey into music, what separates him from other R&B artists, timeless music, what we can expect from this album and he gives The Hip Hop Chronicle UK a taste of his fantastic singing abilities.
