Young Guru Interview (Exclusive)

2nd interview of the day!

Quick sidebar: This was actually my first interview at SXSW.

Young Guru had just finished a DJ set at Fader Fort. I was itching to get my first interview in Austin and so I went up to him and kindly accepted my invitation for an interview.

I speak to Young Guru about his DJing days. He tells me why he looks up to DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Guru also recounts the first time he met Jay-Z in 1999, what makes a good engineer and one of his most memorable studio moments from the Roc-Fella days.

He also speaks on the projects he’s working on including Watch The Throne and Jay-Z’s new concept album.
